Game of S.K.A.T.E

This was at the Palo Alto skatepark, Max and I had met up with Amy and Van to do a little skating, and of course discuss GSG. If you are wondering what GSG is, check out the flyer a couple posts down... you must go! Yes YOU! Ok, so about the game of s.k.a.t.e... Well ironically I landed this kickflip, and it was fairly clean, so this punk kid gets all up in my business trying to get me to play him a game of s.k.a.t.e. Yeah, I'm sure thats happened to you too, like every time you go skate the park. Fortunately for me, Amy stepped in... she wasn't skating when this kid rolled up with his friends, I think she was texting or something. Anyways, the kid is sort of scoffing, because his ego doesn't fit inside his skin... he's probably the best out of his little group or something, Idunno, maybe the best in Palo Alto or something. Somehow things get turned around tho, and he's challenging Amy, so she's like "May I Erica, may I have this dance?" and of course I hand it over to her. Obviously he doesn't know anything about female skaters, otherwise he would have realized who he had just challenged, which makes it all the more better. The kid is about to get his butt whooped. Maybe he thought that she was somebodies mom or something, it was mother's day. Anyways, Amy hands her camera to Van so that she can choreograph the game. Then she grabs her board and starts off easy, with a no-comply, then transitioning into kickflips and heelflips before hardflips. The kid didn't know what hit him. He lost track of his letters. Even the gang BMX bikers fell silent. After getting worked, he slumped to the far end of the park and stopped invading our space. "Well that sure shut him up didn't it?" Yeah, she'll rub it in if they ask for it.

We took a break from skating and watched the gang of BMX bikers, noting which one was the alpha. I think we agreed it was the redhead who kept blowing bubbles with his gum. One kid named Dykky had mad style. We thought the kids were just teasing him but then realized that that was really his name. Shortly after we headed to Redwood City park.
